How People Love You

Sometimes you have these days, you could perhaps say they are somewhat emotional days. Such days when whatever a person says and does, with a hint of kindness, brings out an entire ocean of emotion from you.

Someone could marely just smile at you. But the look in their eyes, and the sincerity in their smile, is enough to tell that they love you.

Or a person could say something kind to you. Something heartwarming which brings much peace to your heart, thus you are certain that they care about you.

An individual may carry out the slighest act of gooodness towards you, so you feel overwhelmed, overcome by a sense of being loved, and you know that you mean something to them.

Then when it hits you. It really hits you. This isn’t just their love for you. It’s الله’s love. And at this moment you break down. Your heart crumbles and your tears pour forth. Because you don’t deserve this love and affection from people. But this’s from Him. That this because He loves you and He has made these people ameans to show you that He loves youY

I mean, what could we’ve possibly done to make them love us? Or to make ourselves mean something to them? There couldn’t possibly be anything significant.

The reality is what it was الله’s work. It was الله’s doing. He made us acceptable in their eyes. He made us lovable in their minds. He placed that love in their hearts. And that love was from Him.

This is why it’s so hard to accept that someone truly loves us. This is why it’s so hard to fathom that someone could possibly love us despite our flawed nature. It’s because the love undeniably from Him.

الله’s messenger said, “If Allah loves a person, He calls Jibril and saying ‘Allah loves so and so, O’ Jibril, love him/her so Jibril would love him/her, and then would make an announcement in the heavens: ‘Allah loves so and so, therefore you should love him/her also’. So, all the dwellers of the heavens would love him/her, and then he/she is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth. (Bukhari)
